A number of unlimited nonholo Snorlax cards were printed with a large streak of missing magenta ink at the bottom left of the artwork, resembling prominent yellow highlighter marks.

A small ink obstruction hickey caused a large number of 1st edition cards to print with a ring in the stamp, making the "1" look like a "d" — producing "'d Edition" cards. One of the most common named WotC errors with over 100 copies documented.

A handful of Eevee cards have a small ink hickey circle in the 1st edition stamp that vaguely resembles the Butterfree 'd' edition stamp error. Rarer than the Butterfree version.

Many unlimited cards were printed with a green dot and a yellow ring above the artwork from a cyan ink hickey. A second variant has a large yellow vertical stain on the left side of the card.

A significant amount of unlimited cards were found with identical missing black ink sections around the Jungle symbol and the "20" in its attack. The consistency of the missing sections across copies confirms it as a true repeating print error.

A large number of unlimited holos were printed with a massive blue ink stain at the bottom right corner of the artwork near Haunter's hand. One of the largest and most iconic ink stains on any WotC card — arguably the most famous Fossil set error.

A handful of 1st edition holos were printed with a vertical gold border ink stain on the left side of the card. Distinct from the blue stain variant and significantly rarer.

A small amount of 1st edition holos were printed with vertical gold border ink stains in varying severity on the left side — nicknamed "Stainmonlee" by collectors. The stain severity varies considerably between copies.

All 1st edition Zapdos holos have a misprint where the top left artwork corner was accidentally designed with a nonholo section. Uniquely, this error was also mass produced for unlimited prints, making it one of the most available of the Fossil errors.

A handful of unlimited copies were found with 7–10 small black dots after the Weakness text, making it read "weakness · · · · · · resistance" with a row of dots between the two stats.

A single nonholo Dark Dragonite was accidentally placed on the uncommon sheet during design, using the holo #5 template. As a result, these cards were mass produced in unlimited using the holo card's artwork framing on a nonholo card body.

On a print run of unlimited nonholos, a large obstruction resembling paper or tape occurred across the artwork area. Over 10 unique copies have been documented — each slightly different based on exactly how the obstruction was positioned. The Charizard premium makes this one of the most valuable Team Rocket errors.

1st Edition and Unlimited prints show a Fighting Energy symbol instead of a Fire Energy symbol for Blaine's Charizard — a fire-type Pokémon. The 1st Edition was never corrected. The Unlimited version was corrected very late in the print run, making the corrected Unlimited paradoxically rarer than the error version.

1st Edition and Unlimited prints do not mention how many damage counters are needed to trigger the stadium's effect. Like Blaine's Charizard, the 1st Edition was never corrected, and the corrected Unlimited version from the late print run is rarer.

A significant amount of unlimited holos have random blue and magenta ink hickies scattered across the artwork, presumably from a Cold Fusion theme deck print run where contaminants entered the printing process.

A red ink hickey with a distinctive yellow ring appears left of the set symbol on at least a dozen 1st edition copies.

Most Japanese copies incorrectly show "60" instead of "60+" for the Flame Burst attack damage, meaning the variable nature of the attack is omitted. The corrected 60+ version is the rarer variant.

A handful of holos were found missing sections of the white background ink in the artwork, creating an unusual transparent-looking effect where the foil shines through unintended areas.

Many unlimited holos have a square-shaped holobleed obstruction error at the bottom left of the artwork — the square shape is unusually geometric for a holobleed, making it highly distinctive.

A few unlimited holos were found with all the white undercoat ink smeared to the right, creating a dramatic half-holo/half-matte split across the entire artwork. Considered one of the most visually impactful Neo errors.

Holo Umbreon commonly has holobleed over its body, one of the more consistently observed errors in Neo sets. Umbreon's extreme popularity as a Pokémon means even common errors carry a meaningful premium.

A few 1st editions were found with an extra white ink spray to the right of Ampharos in the artwork, creating a ghost-like spray effect adjacent to the Pokémon.

A handful of 1st edition Raichus were found with a large splatter of gold border ink and black ink over Raichu's face, extending down to the Thundershock attack text.

Japanese unlimited copies only — a remarkable pattern of multiple repeating ink errors covering the entire artwork: a small red circle in the top center of the tail, a red dot under the mane border, a blue dot above the chest tuft, a red dot above a character in the name, a blue dot under the name near the border, a blue dot to the left of the Pokémon Power, and two tiny red dots to the left center of the art.

Some unlimited copies have a blue diagonal line of additional ink to the left of the set symbol, running behind the "lbs." in the Pokémon data box.

Some copies have multiple hair-like yellow line obstructions: one above the "r" in "Freeze Pokémon," another crossing through "Freeze Dry" and "defending," plus yellow marks between "HP" and the Water symbol. Multiple distinct obstructions on the same card.

Unlike all other Reverse Holofoils in the Legendary Collection set, the energy costs for attacks on this card are reflective/holographic. WotC attempted a correction mid-print run, making the holofoil-shift corrected variant much rarer than the error version.

The electricity on Dark Raichu's tail is printed as holofoil, inconsistent with the original Team Rocket illustration. This misprint makes the tail appear disembodied — floating separately from the rest of the card art.
